Wacoal Bodysuede Seamless Underwire Bra
A while back I posted a call for bra suggestions, and thanks to the very helpful comments on that entry I have a TON of recommendations to go check out — including the slightly intimidating activity of getting fitted by someone who knows what the hell they’re doing, rather than wrapping some fabric tape around my chest and making a wild guess.
In the meantime, I bought a new bra online, without even trying it on. If that wasn’t stupid enough, I chose a particularly expensive brand — Wacoal — just to increase the chance that the whole thing would be an epic failure and I’d have to return it or be out $55.
Amazingly, though, the Wacoal Bodysuede bra fits BEAUTIFULLY. It is officially the most comfortable bra I have EVER owned, EVER. The back closure is right where it’s supposed to be, rather than getting hiked up like all my other bras; the cups have some sort of clever reinforcement on the sides that provide, ah, shaping; the straps are padded and soft; the whole construction gives gravity the bird while virtually eliminating jiggle. My god, it’s a miracle.
Also, it’s not ugly. I mean, it’s not exactly a fanciful Agent Provocateur-esque concoction of lace and trimmings, but it also doesn’t look like something made using a hammer and anvil. In Germany. By nuns.
Love it, can’t recommend it enough for my fellow big-hooted women.
Ballpark price: $55

Well, I am certainly one of the big hooted women you speak of… and I’m excited to the idea of getting some new bras. I’m waiting a bit longer, b/c I’m on this weight loss quest/journey, but I’ll check this out in a couple of months when I’m closer to my goal… Thanks!

I have one of these on my body right now. I worship the little actories it was made in.

Love, love, love Wacol bras. I wear them almost exclusively. You can get them much cheaper new on Ebay or at places like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and even on sale at Macy’s. (One note about Macy’s is they never advertise sales on this brand, but you can often find discontinued colors or styles on their clearance racks.)

I’m jealous. I am desparate to find a good bra that fits me.
