Miracle Blanket
If you have a new baby, or are expecting a baby, or you know someone who’s expecting a baby and you need to get them a gift, or you just like buying baby products because you never know when someone might get knocked up, may I make a loud, frothy-mouthed recommendation? BUY A MIRACLE BLANKET.
If you’ve ever swaddled a baby in anything other than the Miracle Blanket, you will view this thing as the sheer work of genius that it is. It holds the baby’s arms snugly against their body, it covers the baby from shoulders to toes, it wraps so securely even a squirmapillar like my own personal 3-month-old cannot escape its (loving!) embrace.
I credit this product for our baby’s fantastic sleep schedule, which involves only one wee-hour feeding and the ability to sleep in until at least 8 AM every day. The first night we started using it he went from waking up two or three times to waking up ONCE, which I totally attribute to the fact that he was kicking loose all his previous swaddle blankets and getting all unwrapped. In comparison, the Miracle Blanket keeps him in a snug burrito all night long.
BRAVO, MIRACLE BLANKET.

OMG! This blanket truly is the best thing ever. It’s the only way my husband and I got sleep during the first four months of our daughter’s life. LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought 2 of these in preparation for our 2nd son who is being born by c-section in 7 days (HOLY CRAP). With our now 22 month old, my husband was the swaddling champion, but I never got the hang of it.

I had two of these blankets for my last baby. They work great. Do the flaps that hold the arms down freak anybody else out? Because I know babies love this blanket… but imagine as an adult someone wrapping you up in one of these… YIKES!

I owe SO MANY hours of sleep to the glorious Miracle Blanket. Before it, we were swaddling our son in a receiving blanket and closing it with, um, duct tape. And then we used the belt from a bathrobe to tie the damn thing shut! We were so, so desperate (he was fine, I swear, but some family members were a little horrified, but it’s not like we put the duct tape over his mouth or anything). The Miracle Blanket totally saved us during the 4-month sleep regression, which coincided with major jet lag (10 hour time difference, so fun). We wrapped him up in the Miracle Blanket, stuck him in the swing, corked him with a pacifier, and he slept for hours. Oh, I will be buying a backup for baby #2, for sure.

I too love this magical blanket!! I agree: it’s worth every penny of the $30 that it costs. People who don’t have infants are alarmed by the arm-lockdown contraption, but MAN does it ever keep them asleep. Love it.

Amazing. I am ordering one for everyone I know from now on. I would also like to order the baby from the demo video as she made my ovaries explode. ADORABLE!

Sundry,
After reading your entry, and all the comments, and watching the video on the site, I ordered one of these for a co-worker who is due 5/21/08. I am also going to order another one for a different co-worker who is due 8/22/08. Thank you for showing me the PERFECT baby gift.

I wholeheartedly agree with this recommendation! I had one of these for my son when he was an infant and it saved our sanity for sure. He could bust right out of every other blanket we tried, but this one held him nice and snug (and for him, snug = calm and sleeping).

I’m kind of late on this one, but if anyone still wants to buy one of these, you can do so through Miracle Blanket’s web site (www.miracleblanket.com) and use code G6Y3F6Q to get $5 off your order. It expires June 7, 2008.
Also their web site is offering 10% off one blanket or 15% off two or more. (Combine that with the coupon code and it’s not a bad deal, although I would pay full price for this thing because it means SLEEP which means SANITY.)

I can’t sing the praises of this blanket enough. Our 10 week old son is a touch colic-y and during his 5-8 pm Hours Of Horror this helps a ton. He gets so overwhelmed by his flapping arms, this blanket helps calm him down. I also suggest getting two for this reason: if you have a poop/pee blowout that soaks through the blanket in the middle of the night you’re screwed. It’s ESSENTIAL to have a clean and dry back up. I speak from experience. Again, worth every penny.

This blanket is freaking amazing!! I always buy it as a shower gift, even though I think it scares off moms-to-be because it’s basically a straight jacket.

Thank you thank you thank you. I got 5.5 hours of straight ass sleep last night thanks to this blanket. The most I’ve gotten in MONTHS. Thank you.
