My body is still recovering from Baby Numbero Two-O, in the sense that it’s reeling a bit from the effects of nine months mainlining Ben & Jerry’s, as well as that whole “expanding to monstrous proportions” thing. Which is to say, my waist is a tad on the squashy side, and super low-rise jeans are NOT MY FRIEND.

I found a pair of DKNY East Village jeans at a Ross Dress for Less a couple weeks ago (for, like, twelve dollars! I LOVE YOU ROSS) and they are the perfect solution for my current body shape, which features a size 8 lower half but a disproportionately thick waistline. This denim is stretchy without being too stretchy (it doesn’t become ill-fitting and saggy after a few hours of wear, hint hint OLD NAVY), the legs are slim and flattering, the waist is medium-rise.

If you are of the Apple Shape persuasion, or are just sick of having your butt crack revealed every time you bend over, I recommend checking these jeans out. A quick web search doesn’t show many buying options, maybe this is an old style — but check your local Ross, if you have one!
