DKNY Jeans “East Village” Jeans

wjy024_zi.jpegMy body is still recovering from Baby Numbero Two-O, in the sense that it’s reeling a bit from the effects of nine months mainlining Ben & Jerry’s, as well as that whole “expanding to monstrous proportions” thing. Which is to say, my waist is a tad on the squashy side, and super low-rise jeans are NOT MY FRIEND.

(AT ALL.)

I found a pair of DKNY East Village jeans at a Ross Dress for Less a couple weeks ago (for, like, twelve dollars! I LOVE YOU ROSS) and they are the perfect solution for my current body shape, which features a size 8 lower half but a disproportionately thick waistline. This denim is stretchy without being too stretchy (it doesn’t become ill-fitting and saggy after a few hours of wear, hint hint OLD NAVY), the legs are slim and flattering, the waist is medium-rise.

If you are of the Apple Shape persuasion, or are just sick of having your butt crack revealed every time you bend over, I recommend checking these jeans out. A quick web search doesn’t show many buying options, maybe this is an old style — but check your local Ross, if you have one!

Ballpark price: $69 at Dillards, discounted elsewhere
Link: Dillards (black only, though)

I have to put in a mention of the DKNY Soho jeans - they have a low enough rise not to look anything like mom jeans, but stretchy enough not to give the muffin top either. I love them.

I second the reccomendation. I got the same jeans at Ross as I am post baby and my normal jeans just don’t fit right. LOVE them. I got a pair of the SOHO also. Love them.

I know that at least one of you is in the Emerald City, with me. Is this Swistle, or Linda? The reason I ask, you see, is because my next completely stalker-ish question is, “If you’re in Seattle too, did you go to the big Ross store downtown?” Because if so, I will make a special trip and BUY THOSE JEANS. I love that Ross. Love, love, love.

I’m the one from Seattle — well, the Eastside anyway. I haven’t been to that huge downtown Ross in a long time but now that you’ve reminded me of it I might have to make a special visit! The Ross I went to recently is in Oregon, but there’s one right down the road from me in Bellevue. ROSS RULEZ.
