I was surprised to find both an “explicit” and a “clean” version of this CD available, because I hadn’t noticed any Bad Words in my apparently unclean version. A brief look at the album insert reveals 1 s-word, 1 bull-augmented s-word, 1 f-word used as an exasperated adjective, several “oh god”s—and lyrics that are a lot better sung than read.

Tom DeLonge was my favorite part of Blink-182, so I bought this album by his new band without even hearing it first. It’s good. Blink-182 was a mix of broody punk introspectiveness and juvenile punk raunchiness; Angels and Airwaves is just the broody punk introspectiveness.
