My Everyday Makeup Routine
I can’t beat Swistle’s 90 second makeup routine. In fact, I can’t even come close, because I am both vain and a massive product whore, but I thought I’d share my own current routine — not because I’ve got any useful time-saving tips, but because I personally love hearing other people’s makeup rituals and I’m hoping you’ll share your own.
Assuming we’re starting with a clean face, etc, here’s what I do:
1. Cover undereye circles and any blemishes with Bare Minerals Multi-Tasking Makeup.
2. Apply Bare Minerals foundation.
3. Sweep Hoola Bronzer onto cheeks and just under browbones of eyes, adding a tiny bit to nose and forehead.
4. Dust T-zone of face with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil.
5. Use concealer brush (flat, contoured) to define eyebrows with Hoola bronzer.
6. Apply Nars blush in “Orgasm” (tee hee) to cheeks.
7. Burt’s Bees for the lips.
That’s my most basic routine, meaning this is what I’ll wear around the house etc if I’ve actually gotten myself together enough to Put On Mah Face. It takes somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes, I’d say. If I’m actually leaving the house, I’ll slap on some lip color, and if I’m really feeling my oats, I’ll dust on a little eyeshadow in a neutral color.
What about you? If you didn’t already share your makeup routine in Swistle’s 90 Second entry, I’d love to hear about it.

OH, to have dark eyelashes and dark eyebrows. Seriously, that would make my life so. much. easier. Being a redhead is not necessarily all fun and games like people might think. Here’s my morning routine, which I’ve gotten down to about 10 minutes:
1. Eye Cream - usually whatever is around, I’m not picky.
2. Moisturizer w/SPF - Estee Lauder
3. Green concealer on red areas around mouth - JFR Mint Concealer
4. Undereye Concealer - Estee Lauder Doublewear (LOVE THIS)
5. Powder foundation - currently MAC StudioFix
6. Blush - Bobbi Brown’s shimmer brick in Rose
7. Darken/Tame eyebrows - LORAC pencil in auburn
8. Eyeshadow - anything in a pearly flesh tone, with light brown in the crease to add dimension - I like Clinique and Stila
9. Eyeliner - brown NEVER EVER BLACK, currently using Benefit
10. Mascara - brown NEVER EVER BLACK, currently using Sue Devitt, or CG Lash Blast
11. Lip gloss - currently using Bonne Bell’s Dr. Pepper lipsmacker, but I also love Chanel’s Glossimer in Iris
Seriously? The mascara and concealers are the most important part of my routine. If I’m not wearing mascara, you cannot see my eyelashes at all, and I look like a baby mole.

My makeup routine is practically nonexistent — and it probably shows, but I have never really cared. Also, I think I’m still gun-shy after the days of my garish use of Shine Free products in junior high, so I stand by my “less is more” philosophy.
Anyway, I am very, very fair (basically clear, with a few freckles) with red (strawberry blond, if you must) hair, if that is at all relevant.
First, I use a light moisturizer with SPF 15 in it. At the moment, it’s Aveeno something Radiant something, which works fine and is cheap.
Then I pat on some BeneFit Dr. Feelgood, which is a colorless mattifying…uh, thing, and it does a little bit to control the shine but doesn’t make me feel all flaky or tight like any other sort of foundation or powder does.
Then mascara — I use CoverGirl’s…I’m blanking on the name. Great Lash? It came out in the last year or two and is in a purple tube. It RULES, even on my scanty lashes. And again: CHEAP.
If I am feeling VERY kicky, I do a WEE bit of eyeshadow, usually Stila’s Twig, and just a little above my lashline.
And then lip gloss, Stila Lip Glaze in BlackBerry.
Oh, and again if I’m especially motivated (we’re talking once a month, max), a bit of blush. Stila (AGAIN) in Heat.
Total time: probably 2 minutes. But I do not look super put-together (90% of the time, I don’t even blow-dry my hair), so I don’t know if I should be used as an example for anything. I could say that I am going for a fresh-faced look a la the J Crew catalog, but really I’m just lazy.

Mine is in the car, usually. While driving. I am a badass. Cheap-o NYC something-or-other concealer on the reddest spots, quick mascara (right now Physician’s Formula but usually Great Lash), then sweep on a neutral brown shadow with my finger and some light beigy-taupey shadow on the brow bone (also finger-applied) and either Burt’s Bees or a little lip pencil or something on the lips.

This is fun to read!
Oil of Olay SPF 15 beauty lotion on face as moisturizer
Benefit Benetint liquid blush on apples of cheeks and lips
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (MAGICAL STUFF) on eyelids to keep eyeshadow from creasing
Base shadow - Stila Dune all over eyelid to brow, All That Glitters just under brow
Eyeshadow - various colors, my favorites right now are my palettes from Urban Decay or individual pots from MAC
Eyeliner - Revlon Colorstay liquid liner in Very Black or MAC Fluidline in Blitz & Glitz
Darken brows with Sephora Eyebrow palette (medium to dark)
If I’m feeling fancy I put on eyelash primer (without it I get raccoon eye in about two minutes) and some type of Maybelline mascara.
Without mascara this takes me…5 minutes. With…drying time & all maybe 8?
That Urban Decay primer potion is fantastic. I used to crease by mid-afternoon…and now, without explaining why exactly I found this out, I can go 30 hours!

I have dark hair and fair skin.
Not-fancy days: Bare Minerals powder (light), Voluminous mascara (carbon black), Rimmel black eyeliner and various brands/shades of brown eyeshadow.
Fancy days: All that plus Estee Lauder Blushlights cream blush in Berry Light (I thought it was only for older ladies, but someone gave me this and I love it), a little dot of sparkly light eye pencil on the inside corner of each eye because it really does make you look AWAKE! and ALERT! even when you’re not) and Revlon Colorstay Overtime Sheer (Mocha), although now that you mention it, it does feel tight and weird.
I’m pretty sure my routine lasts anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, but every once in awhile I’ll experiment on my face when I’m really bored and that can last up to an hour. Frightening.

Yeah, you really don’t want to know but since you asked.
1. Oil of Olay Regenerist lotion
2. Clinque Powder- Matte Beige
3. Clinque eye shadow - Limited All spice collection
4. Cover Girl - Eyeliner - Black
5. Clinque - Lash curling - black
6. Cover girl blush - no clue on the color
7. Chapstick
I really, really need to branch out and try all these wonderful products from fancy stores like Sephora and Ulta but oh well.

Well, most days it’s
1. Purity Made Simple cleanser
2. eye cream (currently eye-con from benefit)
3. concealer - either the multi-tasking concealer from Bare Minerals or a creamy one from Neutrogena
4. lip balm
But when I want to go fancy - I add a swipe of Fairly Light powder from Bare Minerals and a light dusting of warmth,,which isn’t the standard shade. I’m so pale they gave me a lighter shade of warmth.

OOO — I love this. I love seeing what everyone else does. I gave my 90-second routine already, but here’s my routine when I am not all “I’m late I’m late I’m late I’m late.”
1. Purity cleanser
2. In winter, Hope In a Bottle moisturizer
3. Tinted Moisturizer with SPF (Laura Mercier — dang, this stuff lasts a long time — I bought a new tube waaaay too early, thinking I was almost out.)
4. Benefit F.Y.Eye on the eyelid-al area
5. Benefit Boi-ing on the dark circles.
6. Neutrogena pressed powder dusted on lightly with a fluffy brush (not the puff thing).
7. Neutrogena bronzer lightly at the hairline, cheeks, nose and chin with fluffy brush.
8. Eyeliner — dk brown — L’oreal, I think on outer 2/3ds top lid and bottom 1/3 lower lid.
9. Eyeshadow — usually plum — Ulta, smudged good all over the lid.
10. Eyeshadow — silvery — Ulta, lightly on top of the plum to make it not so purply.
11. Eyeshadow — very pale whitish — Ulta, in corner of eye and under brow.
12. Blendy, smudgy a lot with the eyes with a blendy brush.
13. Blush — Nars “Orgasm”
14. Mascara — dk brown — L’oreal, I think.
15. Tinted lip gloss — whatever’s closest to my hand. A Neutrogena one OR regular-old Chapstick, usually. Guerlain KissKiss in sheer pink, if I’m fancy.
I’ve timed it and it takes about 7 minutes, tops. It sounds like a lot but it’s really not because of super-light application. The eyes are the most complicated thing — my eye routine has gotten tons more complicated ever since Amalah’s Smackdown about using color on the eyes lured me to the dark side.

Last time I tried leaving a comment on here it disappeared so I’m trying again because I LOVE reading these routines.
Step 1: I use Alba’s Pineapple enzyme facial scrub which I bought at Whole Paycheck and I love it. I’m a big fan of the Alba products. (In fact, I challenge your Burt’s bees to a duel with my Alba Coconut Cream lip balm).
Step 2: Benefit Eyecon as an eye cream.
Step 3: Hope in a Jar moisturizer
Step 4: Dab a tiny bit of Eyecon on my MAC concealer to get it a little creamy because that concealer is super thick and apply concealer with fingers. This step takes the most time because I have some serious dark circles under my eyes due to allergies
Step 5: Benetint on cheeks and lips
Step 6: MAC translucent face powder
Step 7: Fresh Mascara (the best mascara ever, except for the fact that a TON comes out on the brush when you first remove it from the tube.
Step 8: Either my Alba Coconut Cream lip balm or my Rosebud salve in strawberry.
Poof! Minus the face washing it all takes about 12 minutes.

I’m a long-time lurker, but this is my abso favorite topic, so, taa-daa! I’m finally posting
I am ashamed to say I go without makeup a lot of the time, EXCEPT for the all-important lipstick. I can have a totally bare face, as long as I have lipstick. It’s not great, but it’s do-able.
If I have 10 minutes, this is my routine:
-Philosophy When Hope is Not Enough SPF moisturizer
-Bobbi Brown concealer under eyes and on blemishes
-Bobbi Brown shimmerwash e/s in champagne
-Stila kajal eyeliner in Tiger Eye
-Bourjois Coup de Theatre False Lash Illusion - Duo Mascara in black
-Smashbox brow tech in taupe
-Mac lipstick in Destined.
If I’m feeling fancy or going out (as in, somewhere other than work), I use Sue Devitt’s 70% Triple Seaweed Gel Foundation in quiet and still.

A recommendation from Martha Stewart Living Radio (Sheesh, I know. I get so much grief from my friends over the fact that I’m always listening to the Martha channel.) - so, instead of going with straight up Bare Minerals, apply a drop of foundation all over the face, then apply some loose dusting powder to set the foundation, and THEN follow up with a light application of Bare Minerals. (Sounds a lot heavier than it feels). A gentle hand is key.
FLIPPING. FLAWLESS.
Not even kidding, beautiful coverage, zero shine (sometimes Bare Minerals alone can get a little irridescently shiny), lasts all damn day. People ask what I’ve changed about my hair, if something is different….
So here’s my routine…
-Clean face
-Dermalogica ultra sensitive sunscreen and moisturizer
-Dermalogica total eye care SPF 15
-Smashbox color correcting foundation primer (the green one)
-Literally just a drop or two of Sue Devitt whipped foundation
-Light dusting of Sue Devitt translucent powder
-Light application of Bare Minerals foundation
-Nars eyeshadow
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil (like buttah)
-Tarte Cheek Stain in blushing bride
-Lipstick, usually Chanel or whatever I happen to grab from the “OMG stop spending every penny on lip gloss” basket

Yay! I love everyone’s lists and methods. I may have to try Bare Excentuals since so many of you are loving it.
- Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 (I wish it came in 30)
- Benefit Boi-ing Concealer
- Covergirl TruBlend translucent powder with minerals, applied with a fluffy brush (the puff that comes with it creeps me out)
- Curl the eyelashes (if I’m in a big hurry, I do this only and completely skip the mascara)
- Brown Rimmel eyeliner
- Some trio of eyeshadow in shimmery brown or champagne hues (Usually Revlon Sandstorm or Almay’s trio for hazel eyes)
- Loreal Double Extend mascara in Black
I am a eyeshadow junkie and tend to go for the overly shimmery stuff. Considering I have a pretty low key job/lifestyle it may be a bit overboard, but I love it none the less. Also, once in a while I wear a royal purple eyeliner from Rimmel. It is supposed to bring out the green in hazel eyes without being PURPLE. This usually works, but sometimes people comment on my “crazy eyeliner”. So moderation is key.

It’s a lot more low key than it used to– I used to use foundation/ mineral makeup all the time, and once you’ve done that, I generally find you have to apply the rest of the stuff too (blush, concealer, blah de blah) or else you look weird and monotone.
Now:
No moisturizer (same realization as you, a while ago. I try to use a HA serum after I get out of the shower in winter, so I don’t have flaky skin on my face; also it makes my skin oddly poreless and smooth O_O But I forget even now, and it isn’t necessary in summer).
Curl eyelashes
Apply mascara (waterproof lash exact)
Done.
If my lips are chapped, I’ll apply my latest hippie lipbalm– right now, kettlepotsoap’s lip lotion in “citrus blast” which is the best hippie lipbalm I’ve found so far– as I’m running out the door.
My skin finally started improving a lot (I bet it’s related to birth control pills, now that I think about it. And of course, I just switched to Implanon! D’OH!), so other than a little redness in the cheeks on occasion, and the single chin zit I get every 2 months, I do okay. And why cover it up– especially since my boyfriend thinks I look way better without makeup (and that way, he doesn’t have to eat it).
If I’m really running late, I don’t even bother with mascara, but I feel much less attractive without. And I should wear sunscreen, I’m very bad. I do have a mineral powder one for the face, but bleh. Maybe this spring/ summer.

I certainly don’t do this everyday, I usually skip the eyeshadow/liner and mascara M-F so I can buy an extra 5 minutes of sleep
Mychelle Pumpkin renew cream
Mychelle firming serum (under the eyes)
Mychelle Fabulous eye cream
Mac Moistureblend (the foundation that comes in a compact)
Maybelline eyebrow pencil in Taupe
Mac Studio concealer (the liquid one)
Mac Studio Fix powder (applied with the Bobbie Brown’s Kobuki brush)
Bobbie Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose…although I’m thinking of switching to something peachier since I recently went brunette
Sonia Kashuk brown eyeliner or the dark plum one from Mac
Mac filiment eyeshadow on browbone and tearduct area
Physicians Formula hint of bronze eyebrightener in the crease
Mac Zoom Lash in Zoomblack
hot eyelash curler (with hairdryer for 20 seconds)
Aquaphor lip goo over a tiny swipe of lipstick for a barely tinted lip
Side note:
My lips were severely chapped and peeling for TWO months and I bought the Aquaphor stuff along with half the pharmacy trying to rid myself of my snake-skin- shedding lips, it was the only thing that worked…you can use it on your hands and feet too.

I agree, this is fun! Here’s my routine. If I have to choose between this and a second pot of french press coffee in the morning, I’ll admit it, I do my face in the car, but only at the stop lights and in the parking garage!
MyChelle Enzyme Cleanser
MyChelle Incredible Pumpkin Peel
MyChelle Fresh Eyes Serum
Stila Tinted Moisturizer in Light
(let the moisturizers sink in for a few minutes while I brush and floss and tame the hair)
Mineral Basics Foundation- just a very light dusting, but not around the eyes, gets in my wrinkles and looks cakey)
Mineral Basics Blush
Mineral Basics Finishing Powder
L’Oreal Eyeliner Pen on top lid only- then wait for it to dry
Stila Eyeshadow palette- the lightest color on my brow bone and inside corner of my eye, going down lightly over my dark circles, then a little bit of the medium color on my lid
Darker Stila Eyeshadow- then, with a smaller flatter brush, I go over the eyeliner with the dark shadow, and blend all of the shadow so the lines are softer
Finish up w/ mascara- right now it’s something I bought at Costco, from the Borghese company… it’s just okay. I have the racoon eyes problem with mascaras too, so I’m always looking for a new one.
And finally, some lip product. I like Cargo lip gloss (but the packaging is a pain to carry around), Stila Lip Polish (Lip Glaze is too smelly for me, but the colors are awesome), or the trusty standby, Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (yes, very 1999, but still looks good and is done in 10 seconds).

I’m always in a rush in the morning, so this takes me about 3 minutes and it’s a good deal.
*assuming we’re starting with a clean face*
1. LaMer Foundation in Light (For one, LaMer is expensive, but the bottle is huge and ONE PUMP does it and so you truly do get your money’s worth. It’s the greatest foundation in the world and blends in perfectly.)
2. Light sweep over face with Bare Minerals - Light
3. Neutrogena’s Sheer Highlighting Blush — complimentary to so many skin tones
4. Maybelline’s ExpertWear EyeShadow (I use two different color palettes depending on mood, and both rock!)
5. CoverGirl black pencil eye liner
6. CoverGirl Lash Exact mascara
7. Lancome Juicy Tubes Jelly (lip gloss) in Daiquiri –light pink tint
I really recommend the lip gloss. If you’re not about tons of color on your lips (I look like a clown with that look), this stuff is the best! It’s 18 bucks a tube, but totally worth it and lasts a long time!

Here’s my basic routine:
Nuetrogena spf 15 moisturizer
Revlon One Step foundation. This shit covers everything without looking cakey. I once “erased” up my bottom lip with it just to freak my husband out.
That Maybelline mascara that comes in the pink tube.
Vaseline on my lips.
If I’m going out at night brown (revlon) eye shadow and a little eyeliner (also brown) under my eyes. Oh also some burgundy pinkish lipstick (I think it’s Revlon too). One fear I have is that as I age (I’m 36) that I’m going to start to wear more and more make-up and ended up looking like Tammy Faye.

Whoa, some people have a real routine..Here’s mine..
1. Prescriptives Flawless Skin Foundation (applied with foundation brush)
2. Blush (Almay, Mauve)
*check out the ol’ eyebrows, makes sure I don’t look like Graucho Marx, tweeze if need be*
3. Mascara (anything with volume *and* length) This is what makes me look and feel “made up”. I tried the Urban Decay Big Fatty but it is a little cumbersome and there’s a lot of mascara on the wand but it doesn’t go where it’s supposed to-on my lashes. So I used Maybelline XXL in Very Black (cuz I’m sexy like that) and haven’t gone platinum blonde with my hair–yet. Do the white mascara #1 step, wait to dry (key) and then #2, with the mascara. And taa-daa, bat those hot lashes. ; ) I think it’s the quickest way to look “done”
4. I LOVE lip gloss. Shinier the better. A raspberry color looks best on my dark hair and pale-ish skin. Apply lipstick if I feel like it.
That’s it. I’m 27, full time nurse and student. That’s it. Four steps!

Wow, it’s oddly fascinating to read about this, and I must admit that I am envious about how easy (it seems) for many of you to skimp on the eye make-up. For me, it takes forever and simply cannot be omitted! Big pale eyes in pale skin surrounded by pale hair = corpse-like if unretouched.
So, skipping over the extensive cleansing (ProActiv, baby!!) and moisturizing (Hope in a Jar and several Origins supplements, if necessary), I:
1. Use Benefit lemon-aide stuff on eyelids to tone down the gross red tinge on my lids.
2. Make several attempts to blend various shades of brown eyeshadow, often colors from a MAC kit I bought a while ago but other times supplemented with random smears of CoverGirl taupe. I have lots of eyelid, and no matter what I do my application always seems blotchy and streaky. It’s no so easy to “blend” over vast midwestern plains of eyelid.
3. Apply eyeliner, trying to make it even. Use a MAC chocolate brown color.
4. Black mascara by Tarte. Like the mascara, hate the container, purple faux alligatorskin monstrosity that it is.
5. Bare Escentuals foundation. — have to say that despite the fact it leaves a total mess of powder on the sink and, sometimes, on my clothing, this stuff is awesome and has hastened the make-up routine. I used to use some kind of liquid foundation, often applying too much or too little, which then required corrective action, followed by a powder. Now I just slap on some of this stuff.
6. Clinique blush . . . some kind of pinkish color.
7. Bare Escentuals mineral veil.
8. Some lipstick chosen randomly from my extensive collection, mostly of Clinique freebies gotten years ago that I have never much cared for but still somehow can’t throw away.
All this takes about 15 mins.

I have no idea how long this takes, because I do different combinations of steps most of the time (sort of whatever I feel like), but here’s my most all-out routine:
1. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin
2. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (the clear kind)
3. Bare Minerals foundation applied as a concealer with the concealer brush
4. Bare Minerals foundation in Fairly Light (with big fluffy brush)
5. Bare Minerals all-over color in Glee - on forehead and cheeks (with big fluffy brush)
6. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
7. Brown or black eyeliner pencil - my brown one is a CoverGirl pencil, Smoothers maybe? The black one is a Lancome pencil, with kohl in the name. Great stuff.
8. Maybelline Full & Soft mascara in very black (I have very dark eyebrows and eyelashes and brown eyes)
9. Blistex Silk & Shine lip balm
10. Either a light peachy-pink CoverGirl lipgloss, or a Sephora cranberry/plum lipgloss, or some combination of the two, if I’m feeling fancy
I only do eyeshadow if I really have time. Which is almost never. My normal morning-face is just the Bare Minerals stuff and lip balm, with mascara if I have time.

On regular “basic” days:
1. Benefit “bo-ing” concealer for under eyes and red spots (of which there are many. Anything can turn a spot bright red on me, so even if I’m wandering around the house with no makeup, I still do concealer. People come to the door sometimes, you know.
2. Clinique Gentle Light powder in Glow 3.
3. Smashbox “Lens” blush, which is peach enough to use on cheeks AND to dust over the face to give a pale person (me) a bit of a bronzing effect without having to use an alternate bronzer.
4. Clear mascara to tame unruly eyebrows.
On days when I want to feel put together, beautiful, and in all other ways glamourous in the grocery store:
1. All of the above, except before the concealer I use Smashbox’s “Photo-Op” under eye brightener.
2. MAC “Strobe” cream highlighter along cheekbones to give definition and glow.
3. MAC “Shroom” eyeshadow (neutral with a tiny dab of shimmer).
4. Body Shop “Conker” eyeshadow (kind of natural plummy brown).
5. Body Shop Lengthen and Define mascara in Brown. I love this stuff. I hate chunky lashes and really just want the colour without the volume, since I have pretty full lashes. This stuff is great. I also comb through my lashes a bit after it dries to separate them to give a natural look.
And the Body Shop’s Aloe Vera Cleansing Lotion is an AWESOME makeup remover/cleanser that cleans without drying and really soothes my afore-mentioned red-prone skin.

Oh, and I totally forgot that I ALWAYS start with Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer (the green colour-correct one). Wonderful stuff. Very key.
And I wear Carmex on my lips. Glossy and medicates. And if I want more colour, I just layer a gloss like Black Honey or a Prescriptives one on top.

WOW, I am impressed at how knowledgable you all are in the makeup you put on.. ha… Me, not so much, I was sitting here trying to remember what brands I use and I guess the only thing I can say is… whatever was cheaper! Which now that I think of it, may be really bad for my skin… No wonder I have red splotches or I breakout, or have oily then dry skin… I am not consistent and I am cheap! or frugal maybe is a better word… Well whatever the case I need to pay attention to you all
My routine is about 10-15 minutes, it used to be muchhhhh longer but I cut down and skip things now. So it is as follows without the brands of course:
1. Dab eye circles and red spots
2. powder all over
3. Darken eyebrows–which means I freaking have to draw them in.. I was blessed with 10 blonde eyebrow hairs for each eye.. ugh, I hate this part of makeup, I feel so crazy having to line in eyebrows, I wish I can just go like Whoopie G. and be okay without them but I’m not ![]()
4. Add eye shadow, lighter on the lid, darker in the crease, powder over to blend it all in so I don’t look like a paint by number
5. cheeks, a bit on the thinnest part of my cheek to “pretend” like I have cheekbones. They’re there somewhere!
6. eyeliner - I did the liquid eyeliner for wayyy too long, then realized pencil was better, then got tired of doing upper and lower and whatever, so now I only do lower and my eyes still look tiny for my face.. ugh
7. curl eyelashes, the few blonde ones I have and apply mascara
8. DONE
Now I read this and I’m such a whiner, sorry for the blabbing

Benefit Powder (Get Even) to take away shine
Benefit Lemonaid for my eyelids (they are really dark skinned) if using any eye makeup
Benefit Benetint on cheeks
Clear Mascara

Another SAHM mom and I made apact to wear full on make up at lest once a week. It’s funny how quickly you can fall out of the habit of wearing it.
On stay at home days I slather on Burts Bees Vanishing Marshmallow cream (the trick is to dab it on and let sit - usually while I do my ponytail- then spread it around so that your body heat kinda melts it some)
On errand days I go with Smashbox photo finish primer (did you know they’ll give you free smaples at Sephora? My sis in law gave me a bunch in my xmas stocking!), bare minerals, curl the lashes in the vintage torture device, maybe some eyeshadow (loreal powdered in a little pot is my fave), avon curves mascara and prestige eyeline if eyeshadow or loreal silver big chunky eyeliner crayon if no eyeshadow.
I saw the Bare Esentals powdered eye liner and am thinking I might want some but I don’t know anyone who has/ has tried it.

About the Bare Minerals eyeliner, I have it and honestly it’s not my favorite and I love Bare Minerals. It’s a little on the pain side to apply and you MUST use the Weather Everything or it will fade off. I currently use MAC gel liner in dipdown and I love that, it stay’s in place all day and doesn’t fade.
Hope that helps.

Wow do I feel left out! I put um, lotion on my face. I use Mary Kay, I know, boo hiss boo hiss, but the stuff is like crack, once you start, that’s it, you’re hooked! I do however use quite a few of their lovely lotions:
*Clean face with the 3in1 cleanser
*Appy to entire face Even Complexion Cream~ I’ve never been too bothered about having my grandmother’s mustache but after having the boys, I have an enormous ‘rust spot’ (hyperpigmentation) on my upper lip as well that only accentuates the mustache and this stuff is great for keeping all darker marks at an even tone, including my freckles.
*Next comes the Day Cream with spf3,000,000
*Now the eyes, I use the Age-Fighting on my lids and the Firming under my eyes, or vice versa, can’t remember, I just know the tube stuff goes above and the little pump bottle goes below. Scientific, eh? I don’t do the eyes every day, just when I have something cool going on. I’m pushing 40 so there are lots of little wrinkles that get ironed out by that stuff.
*I top the whole thing off with the moisturizer.
I think it all takes a total of three minutes. I don’t wear makeup, probably from years of wearing ‘punk’ face paint, I can’t be bothered. Very occasionally I’ll wear some Burt’s Bees Shimmers but usually it’s just BB lip balm.

I love to read about people’s morning routine !!! I have brown, highlighted hair, brown eyes and even though I’m 40 several zits that needs to be covered….
1) After shower, blow dry hair ( I like a messy look), while flat iron heats up (Yeah flat iron and messy don’t go but it works for certain parts)
2) I use Philosophy’s Hope In Jar for my face. It dries while I round up the troops for school and grab some undergarments.
3) I sometimes use Smashbox’s smooth photo finish primer or something like that to really smooth the skin.
4) I use Bare Minerals basic all over my face.
5) I use a plum color eyeliner.
6) I use Sephora brand eyeshadow in a plum/brown color. Daytime or work, it’s a med color..evenings I use either Sephora or Bare Minerals darker shadows in plum colors.
7) I use Nars or Sephora blush to just give a little color.
8) I go back over everything with the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
9) I love Burts Bee’s Lip Shimmers in Raisin….perfect color for either daytime or night and they taste good….strange but I can’t stand putting a “weird” tasting lipstick on…..does anyone else feel this way ?
10) Finish hair and done !!!
This takes me anywhere from 15-30 minutes depend on if it’s morning for work on getting ready for an evening out.

Being mom of a newborn this routine varies drastically according to his and my mood… Usually takes 5-10 minutes.
1. Maybelline concealer in light
2. Loreal Infallible Foundation–one pump does the whole face.
3. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
4. Revlon Colorstay brown eyeliner (sometimes navy for more emphasis w/my gray-blue eyes).
5. A sweep of neutral shadow (if going out I add white highlighting shadow below brows and in inner corners of eyes).
6. Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara in dark brown. Cool little brush.
7. Revlin Infallible lipgloss in (?) Sangria, I think.
8. Sometimes I use Neutrogena blush to add life to my fair complexion.
