Luscious Cargo
At any time of year—not just as Valentine’s Day approaches—I could have my heart swayed by perfume that costs more per ounce than a black-market infant. BY FAR my favorite site for that sort of thing (the perfume, not the infants) (for infant recommendations, you are on your own) (unless you happen to be shopping for a 2-year-old who is up half the night?) is LusciousCargo.com.
The descriptions of each product (they sell candles and lotion and other perfumey things, too) are interesting and amusing to read, and make me want to buy ONE OF EACH PLEASE AND CHARGE IT KTHANX. The confiding, educated, connoisseur tone makes me feel like the site wants to promote everything fairly—but that they secretly think the item I chose was the best thing on the whole site.
Shipping everywhere has gone way up recently and can add about twelve bucks to the cost of a bottle of perfume, but Luscious Cargo is running a free shipping deal through January 27th if you use coupon code LUSCIOUSLUV and spend more than $30. (Sign up for their email newsletter and YOU TOO can be hip to their free-shipping deals.) —Swistle

Do you want to know something, really, REALLY weird? Yesterday I was in Target, and I saw a bottle of Tommy Girl perfume, and I thought to myself, “oh, way back MONTHS AND MONTHS ago when I told Swistle what perfumes I used to wear, I forgot to mention Tommy Girl!”.
This is weird for several reasons, not the least of which is that I even REMEMBER that it happened, much less what I said, but there you go. Tommy Girl.

Err…Valenwho? Wazzat?
Let’s just say FOR EXAMPLE that SOMEONE wanted to buy SOMEONE ELSE a particular SMELLY PRODUCT. What particular flavor of said product would that SOMEONE enjoy, assuming they hadn’t already dropped a bunch of missed hints and given up and bought it themselves?

The owner, Marcy, is the absolute best. She and I know each other from all the orders that I’ve placed there over the years, and I want to marry her, basically. Except that she’s already married and so am I.
One thing I have to stress is that she has the COOLEST, and I mean, THE COOLEST, packaging ever. Her boxes come with cedar shavings, and she wraps each perfume like it’s a personal gift, even if it is only for yourself.
She remembers what you order, what you like, and she goes out of her way to make you feel special, oh yes, she does.
I can’t recommend her enough.
