Bare Minerals Multi-Tasking Makeup

bisque_be.jpgAfter many months of searching for the right concealer and trying various products, I think I have settled on a cover-up that may not completely erase my dark eye circles (only a professional lighting artist could do that at this point, I think), but does as good of a job as can possibly be expected: Bare Minerals Multi-Tasking Makeup.

I’m a huge fan of the Bare Minerals line, but I haven’t been particularly thrilled by their ‘multi-tasking’ concealer — although it worked for small blemishes, I didn’t think it did a good job with under eye circles. I felt like the coverage was too sheer if applied lightly, and too powdery if applied thickly. As it turns out, I just needed to change how I applied the stuff.

The way I’ve been using this lately — and greatly appreciating the results — is to first moisturize around my eyes, then after 5 minutes or so, I sweep on a thick line of Multi-Tasking powder (in Bisque) under each eye with this brush. I mean, enough so that the skin is noticeably lighter under the eyes and the powder is visible on the skin. Then I use my index fingers to smooth it in. Voila! For some reason, using my fingers instead of the brush totally blends in the makeup, and I get the coverage I need. Afterwards, I use my Bare Minerals foundation like normal and sweep a little of that under my eyes too. Everything stays all day long, and I never get those makeup creases.

Bare Minerals, I’m sorry I ever doubted you. My love for you will NEVER DIE.

I tried Bare Minerals foundation last Fall based on your recommendation, and I love it… maybe I’ll have to try this product too!

Me too and me too! I STILL don’t think I’m applying the powder totally correctly though - I will try the finger trick tomorrow morning.

I also started using the Bare Minerals line based on your recommendations and could not say thank you enough! But, I’ve been noticing lately that I need a separate concealer; looks like I’ll have to place another order at Sephora. Oh darn.

When I bought my concealer, the chick at Ulta recommended using my finger because the oils on your skin help it blend in. Works for me.

Also, since the onset of my deathly pale winter skin, I’ve started using the tinted mineral veil. It gives just enough color to perk up my face a bit and even out my skin tone. I don’t even bother with the foundation underneath it anymore. Cuts a good 30 seconds out of my makeup routine!

I bought the Bare Minerals starter kit based on your recommendation (and the before/after pics you posted) and I really love it. It’s a shame you’re not getting a commission on all these sales!

Oh - AND I bought the Get Started eyeshadow set! It just arrived yesterday and I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Another Linda recommendation!

Thank you! I, too, have been having trouble covering the dreaded undereye circles. I’m going to try this today.

I really love the ‘Well-Rested’ for under-eye circles. Dump that on the concealer brush and wham-o, I’m good to go.

I too love this stuff!! I have been for about 3 years now. Ladies check out QVC they have it on there all the time and usually have great deals, and easy pay options. Thanks for the hint w/the concealer, I will try it tomorrow am. :)
