St. John’s Bay Men’s Chamois Shirt

stjohns_shirt.jpgOkay, add this to your holiday gift-idea list for that hard-to-buy-for guy, because my husband has been raving about this shirt for the last week straight. “Are you going to put this on SundryBuzz?” he keeps asking. “Make sure you mention how it’s got man-approved softness.”

Man-approved softness aside (meaning it’s very soft, but once you wash it exactly one time it becomes a manly sort of soft, vs. a ‘girly’ soft, according to Mr. Macho Textile Expert over here), these shirts do seem pretty awesome. They look nice, they feel nice, and since JB has been wearing his original St. John’s since I met him in 1998 and only recently was convinced to get a couple of new ones for the LOVE OF GOD, they hold up really well over time. It’s a great layer option for this time of year, too.

This shirt comes in lots of sizes and colors, and it’s not very spendy. And don’t forget: it’s man-approved.

Oh, a shirt my husband might actually like! How does the sizing run?

I think about normal, maybe a little small? JB has a size large that fits him perfectly and he’s not a very tall guy, so if your husband is tall I’d go for an XL.

I was so excited they have talls, but it looks like they only go up to XL. My husband is a 3X tall, and is in DESPERATE need of new clothes. Boo Hoo!

Off to buy one, because I have NOTHING for Pete for Christmas, NOTHING.

These are great shirts!!! I actually have one, which is about 5 years old and just peaking at that most comfy stage! Hubby has several that are between 2-6 years old, and I can’t tell which one is oldest.

If you’re having problems finding the bigger tall sizes, Cabela’s has chamois shirts like these that come bigger. My father-in-law is a 2XL Tall and that’s where we have to buy his.

These are perfect for layering if you’re going outdoors all day, or as a light jacket around the yard.

Holy crap, that’s cheap. I might have to buy several for all the men on my list.

Eric’s Mommy: They do have big & tall sizes…you just have to select the right category at the bottom of the page. I’m buying some now, yay! Thanks, JB!

I’m ordering one for Paul in dark red, and maybe one of the blues. He likes flannel shirts in winter, but these are nicer-looking than his plaidies.

I just bought a charcoal grey one in-store and it’s ON SALE. It was $17.99 or something like that.
