Keen Presidio shoes

keenshoes1.jpgWhen I first started seeing Keen shoes at REI and other places, I thought they were kind of ugly, what with their big clunky toe and all. I’m not sure if their style changed somewhat, or if I’ve just come to appreciate their overall look, but they’ve really grown on me. I like most of their lines, especially the wee little toddler-sized “hiking” shoes.

I finally bought myself a pair last weekend with some birthday mad money, and I haven’t taken them off since. They are the most comfortable shoes EVER.

I believe I bought the Presidios, although they look ever so slightly different—they’re all one type of leather, rather than a combo of smooth and textured as the product photos seem to show. Keens run short, so I got a half size larger than I normally would. These are wide shoes, but they feel fantastic (even though I have narrow feet). There’s a great amount of arch support, and a firm, springy step when you walk.

They may not be fancy enough to pair with, say, a flouncy skirt, but they’re perfect for everyday outings, and I imagine they’d do well on the trail also. Mine are brown, but I see there is a very spiffy red pair, along with a light blue.

Two thumbs up for Keen! I’m officially a fan.

I heart Keen shoes. I haven’t seen the wee ones though… I’ll have to check them out. Daughter is wearing zip-up Merrells which are freaking awesome.

Keens are my new obsession. I’m pining for a pair but I don’t know which style I want!

Glad to hear they are as comphy as advertised. Enjoy you lucky bastard.

I bought Keens for my boys. The ones you bought look great with jeans (and so great in a wet climate). Now I will be on the lookout for a pair of my own.

My main qualm with Keens was their price, but since I’ve found three nearly-new pairs at the REI D&D sales for 50% off, I can’t complain anymore.

I’ve got some Keen flip-flops that I heart. They have that weird toe cap thingy in front of the big toe, so they look kind of strange, but good gracious I never knew flops could be that comfortable. Plus, they actually look pretty cute. Good ol’ Sierra Trading Post usually has some Keen stuff, too.

I made my Mom purchase a pair. I hiked all around Spain in my Keens and I still wear them around Seattle. Great shoes! I think my wee one will get them for Belgium this year.
