ThinkGeek Annoy-a-tron

annoyatron.jpgJB: “I have 3 of these currently deployed at work. I put one in an audio guy’s office, he’s going crazy thinking there’s something wrong with his speakers. I tried to target people who frustrate easily.

This device has a built in magnet, so it’s easy to hide. It goes off just infrequently enough that it’s hard to identify/locate. And luckily, it’s got a long battery life.”

From ThinkGeek’s site: The Annoy-a-tron generates a short (but very annoying, hence the name) beep every few minutes. Your unsuspecting target will have a hard time ‘timing’ the location of the sound because the beeps will vary in intervals ranging from 2 to 8 minutes.

This thing is sheer genius. I keep meaning to bring a couple into my own office, although I suspect my coworkers would recognize it right away.

Love it. That just might be the gadget to replace our recently deceased remote controlled fart machine.

Holy crap I want one (not for myself, of course, but to piss off my co-workers)!

A few years ago I was staying in a place unfamiliar to me, with my daughter. In the middle of the night something started beeping - just one beep, at a regular interval (maybe two minutes).

It was impossible to go back to sleep. We ransacked the place trying to figure out if it was a malfunctioning smoke alarm (it sounded a bit like that) or burglar alarm or what. After about an hour I finally found it: the low-battery reminder on my cellphone!

That’s it, I’m getting one of these and stashing it in the most annoying co-worker ever’s office.
