Etsy squid cards
Oh dear. I don’t think I’d even heard of Etsy before. And now…well, I’ll just be over here, on my laptop. With my credit card. Buying everything on their damn website.
A reader sent me a link to these fabulous cards (thanks, Jen!) and they are just too awesome not to share. I find the image more octopus-y than squid-y, personally, which is a Good Thing because I know the physical differences are few, but octopuses clearly kick cephalopod ASS all over squids. Even those giant squids that eat whales and stuff.

Oh, Etsy. Yeeeaahhh. I occasionally open that site up, look around for a few moments, hear my credit card wimpering quietly in my purse, and close my browser. I’m very afraid that if I buy one thing, I will NEVER STOP.
Those cards are incredible.

Just today my most stylish coworker swept into my office wearing an Etsy skirt patterned like a winter forest (think big bare trunks and branches), and with a little owl pocket in the front. I do love me some Etsy.

I love Etsy. I have your RSS feed mixed in a long list of crafter RSS feeds. This blogger does a great job of finding the really good Etsy stuff.

Ooooh. I got the hubby a new wedding ring for Christmas off of Etsy. From a jewelry designer in Washington, actually. Very cool stuff. I’m also trying to decide whether this will kill or just impal my kid: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=432605&show_panel=true&show_panel=true

Etsy and I have been friends for nearly a year now. It is a highly toxic friendship, however. Heh.
Here is my favorite thing I have purchased from Etsy for my little mister.

I’m glad you liked them! I thought they would find a happy home with you. It never occurred to me that you hadn’t checked out Etsy before though! If I had known the can of bank-account-devastating whoop-ass I was opening, I might have hesitated… but then again, why should I be the only one spending my kid’s diaper money on crafty cuteness?

True story: I followed your link to Etsy. I scrolled through 125 pages of onesies in search of the perfect one for my new godchild. I picked one. I bought it. Noticed that the seller lives in my city but shrugged off that coincidence. Turns out that the seller of the onesie I picked out of all of those hundreds of onesies went to grade school with me. We were on the same basketball team. She lives a couple of miles away. And I’m going to pick it up at her house and not pay for shipping. What are the odds? I don’t even know. All of this is just to say thanks for the link, for I think Etsy is the site of small world miracles.
