Little Tikes Push & Ride Racer

jd1094_l.jpgMy son and I got home tonight after a longish weekend visiting family, and one of the first things he did was rush over to his push-car toy and gleefully bleat, “EEEEHHHHHH!”. He then placed his stuffed bear in the seat and pushed the car around the living room, frowning in deep concentration.

I’m recommending this particular toy because it’s been such a big hit in our household; if you’re in the market for an age-appropriate toy for a 1-yr old (give or take a few months) this Little Tikes car seems pretty great. He staggered behind it while he was learning to walk, and now that he’s got the whole upright-and-ambulatory thing under control (for the most part) he pushes it with authority. Thank the gods, he also recently figured out how to turn the S.O.B., so there’s less glass-shattering howling going on when he trundles himself into a wall or whatever. Riley also sits on it while we push him around, which greatly pleases him. 250187685_2786afccc1_o.jpg

Thumbs up for the “push and ride racer”; for $25 we sure have wrung a lot of enjoyment out of it.

We got one of those when my son turned 1. (Weirdly, we called it Ollie. Don’t know why, exactly. Must have been it’s name.) I have to vouch for it’s all-around usefulness when you have a toddler around. Ours lived through 2 kids and several years of push-me-down-the-driveway-at-top-speed fun. If you don’t have one for your little one, get one.

hmm… this recommendation may have come at just the right time what with christmas coming and all. i have a 21 month old to buy for and hopefully his parents haven’t spoiled him yet by buying him EVERYTHING HE COULD EVER, EVER NEED. will have to ask if one of these are being rolled around the house yet. Thanks, Sundry!

YOU! You are the reason I had one of these in the back of my mind when my gal turned one last week. I scoured town for one and ended up ordering it online– and couldn’t figure out where I’d seen one to know that I wanted one for her so badly.

She’s stumbling around with it now, trying to learn how to use it without landing on her face. It’s very cute.
